In the second installment of the Run Club Series, we dive deeper into the heartbeat of the TrainToAdapt Run Club. Week by week, this community continues to grow, not just in numbers, but in spirit, determination, and achievement. From first-time joggers to seasoned runners, the club has become a space where every step forward feels like a victory.
The Week in Review
Last week’s session was all about pushing boundaries. Adam Shergold, the club’s founder and Lead Personal Trainer at TrainToAdapt, introduced a new interval training program designed to boost speed and stamina. The session took place on the scenic coastal paths of Lee-On-The-Solent, with participants taking in stunning sea views as they tackled alternating bursts of high-intensity running and recovery jogs.
For many members, interval training was a new experience. “I didn’t think I could keep up at first,” said one of the new joiners to the club. “But with Adam’s guidance and the group’s encouragement, I found a rhythm. By the end, I felt stronger than ever.”
The session concluded with a group stretch on the beach, where members shared their progress and cheered each other on. It’s moments like these that remind everyone why they joined in the first place: to connect, grow, and celebrate the journey.
The Power of Small Wins
One of the core philosophies of the Run Club is celebrating small wins. While many runners have their sights set on ambitious goals – whether it’s completing a 10K, a half-marathon, or simply running three miles without stopping – Adam encourages participants to recognize and honor incremental progress.
“Every step forward is a victory,” Adam explained during the cool-down session. “It’s not about how fast or far you run compared to others. It’s about being better today than you were yesterday.”
Looking Ahead
As the Run Club builds momentum, future sessions will also focus on hill training, a challenging but rewarding element of running that builds strength and endurance. Adam promises plenty of guidance and encouragement to help everyone conquer the hills – both literal and figurative – that come their way.

Whether you’re a regular runner or someone still contemplating their first steps, the TrainToAdapt Run Club welcomes you with open arms. It’s not just about the miles – it’s about the friendships, the personal growth, and the shared sense of purpose that make every session special.
